Set in the tranquil countryside of Oxfordshire, this residential immersion retreat is just 45 minutes by train from London's Marylebone station. This part II of the Vinyasa Immersion is intended to deepen one's capacity to practice and teach vinyasa flow in authentic, creative and insightful ways.
Topics covered will include:
Each morning there will be a long asana session focused on developing clearer awareness and cohesion in the body. Morning and evening meditations will offer attendees the time to explore mindfulness-based meditation practices, and daily pranayama and qigong will help move energy more efficiently through the body. On Saturday and Sunday after a delicious vegetarian lunch, there will be some time for resting, booking treatments or taking walks on the estate's many acres. The afternoon sessions will look at alternative approaches to sequencing as well as other key themes in refining practice and teaching skills. Throughout the weekend, participants will work toward deepening their embodiment of vinyasa as well exploring how the practice can be understood, developed and shared with others.
This retreat is open to those who have completed the Vinyasa Flow Immersion course with Mimi.
Spaces limited to 18 participants.
Topics covered will include:
- An in-depth look at the role of the teacher, including a look at the inner critic (i.e. 'imposter syndrome') and selfing tendencies
- Importance of Self-Practice
- Finding Sequential Flow (through universal movement patterns such as breath, moving from centre and spinal integration)
- Hands-on Adjustments, Part II: Inversions, balance postures, longer-held postures, using props and your own body.
- Sequencing Part II: Beyond the Peak Pose
- The Poetics of Function, Form and Intention

Some kind words shared by last year's Going Deeper: Immersion Part II participants:
'The weekend was phenomenal - the venue and food was stunning, the mix of chi gong, vinyasa flow classes, and teaching technique was awesome. The accompanying materials, including manual and high quality audio was outstanding. All the extra touches, like little surprise pressies from Mimi were delightful'. -- Sarah White 'My heart and mind are swirling with love and inspiration from the teaching and good company of fellow yoga teachers on the Vinyasa Immersion Part II with Mimi Kuo-Deemer. I look forward to sharing the positive energy and new flowing sequences in my classes!' - Cailtin Dyne 'Poundon House is a gorgeous place for Vinyasa Immersion Part II. The weekend was carefully and lovingly crafted and curated by Mimi Kuo-Deemer. We woke up to a chime instead of a clock radio, did early morning Qi Gong overlooking the beautiful grounds followed by meditation, discussion and learning. It was so much yummy yoga and a wonderful group of people to share the experience with'. - Sarra Zemmel 'Thanks to Mimi for such a wonderful experience. She hold the space so peacefully and with such sincerity. The setting, learning and food were all exceptional!' -- Laura Shipsey |
