frequently asked questions about retreats

Frequently asked questions about retreats

Question: Do I have to be an advanced practitioner to go on a retreat?
Answer: Not at all. Each year there are a wide range of students, from complete beginners (some who have never even done one class before!) to teachers.  The practices are accommodating for all levels so that each person can learn and deepen their knowledge.

Question:  On daylong retreats, are meals offered?
Answer: No, please bring your own lunch and snacks.

Question:  On residential retreats, are share rooms single sex or co-ed?
Answer: They are single sex, unless otherwise specified or requested (i.e. you are a couple, or friends sharing)

Question:  Is it possible to attend for part of the retreat?
Answer: We do not encourage people to attend for partial day(s), but of course understand if someone needs to leave a day early for personal or work related reasons.

Question: What is the food like?
Answer: On residential retreats, food is always delicious, and we work to honour common dietary requirements and food allergies.

Question: Is there coffee, tea, desserts, and wine?
Answer: Coffee and tea, yes! Desserts, yets! Wine? No, this is not encouraged.

Question: Are there toiletries available?
Answer: For residential retreats, bedding, sheets and towels are provided, but please bring your own toiletries.

Question: Is there wifi available?
Answer: Depends on the retreat. For silent retreats, wifi is not available. It is recommend that people keep their online time minimised so as to gain the most rest and quiet while on retreat.
