Qigong Yearlong Teacher Mentorship
the 2022 mentorship programme is currently full.
About the programme:
I am happy to offer a yearlong qigong mentorship programme to those starting to or already teaching qigong. These sessions are an opportunity to receive support, feed back questions about teaching as well as focus on one or two key elements about sharing qigong effectively and authentically. Participation in all the sessions of this yearlong programme is required (12 sessions).
I am happy to offer a yearlong qigong mentorship programme to those starting to or already teaching qigong. Participation in all the sessions of this yearlong programme is required (12 sessions).
Format:
Each session will be two hours and 30 minutes, including a 15 minute break. We will be using my book, Qigong and the Tai Chi Axis, as a basic guideline and manual for the sessions. Each month we will focus on a section of the book, breaking down forms and meditations/visualisations. Principles on how to structure classes, use imagery and language and work with energy and meridian theory will be included. There will also be time to feed back questions about teaching, and receive input or support to your process. Small groups will be assigned in the first session, and attendees are asked to meet with their group on Zoom once between sessions.

Prerequisites:
- This is best suited for people already teaching qigong, though if you are already teaching other movement disciplines and are ready to teach qigong you may also join.
- Commitment to all 12 sessions, between-module assignments, and small group meetings between sessions.
- A working video camera.
- An open-minded attitude towards learning.
- A love for sharing the health and benefits of qigong with others
Attendance and participation:
Attendance of the first session is mandatory, and participation throughout the whole year is required to join. Students are allowed to miss up to two of the 12 sessions. Small study groups will be assigned in the first session, and attendees are asked to meet with their group on Zoom once between sessions.
Certification:
At the end of a year, you can add the total number hours up that you have attended through the mentorship as well as other classes, courses or immersions you do with me and I’m happy to issue a certification for those hours. Please be aware this is not a formal certification, but it is an acknowledgement that you have been working and studying with me. At the moment, there are no official certifying bodies in the UK for qigong like there is for yoga or mindfulness, so hopefully this will suffice.
Fees/Dana:
This mentorship is offered based on dana, which is a Buddhist word and teaching that means generosity. Dana works on the idea of reciprocity and mutual support. With my teachings, I will offer what I hope will best support, guide and nourish you in your practice. In exchange, you are invited to give an offering of dana that reflects the support, guidance and nourishment you feel you have received.
A suggested dana is £25-50 per session (£75-150 per quarter), but please know that this is only a suggestion. If you are experiencing financial hardship, you are welcome to attend this workshop for less; likewise, if you have more financial means and the workshop has offered you something of value, you are welcome to offer more.
To offer dana, you may use Paypal, Venmo or the offer it using the donate buttons below. For UK residents, please request my bank details from enquiries@mkdeemer.com.
