About the programme:
I am happy to offer a yearlong qigong mentorship programme to those starting to or already teaching qigong. These sessions are an opportunity to receive support, feed back questions about teaching as well as focus on one or two key elements about sharing qigong effectively and authentically. Participation in all the sessions of this yearlong programme is required (12 sessions).

Participation in all the sessions of this yearlong programme is required (12 sessions).
Format: Each session will be two hours and 30 minutes, including a 15 minute break. We will be using my book, Qigong and the Tai Chi Axis, as a basic guideline and manual for the sessions. Each month we will focus on a section of the book, breaking down forms and meditations and visualisations. We will also explore enquiries into the energies of each phase and its related season, emotions and qualities. Principles on how to structure classes, use imagery and language and work with energy and meridian theory will be included. There will also be time to feed back questions about teaching, and receive input or support to your process. Small groups will be assigned in the first session, and attendees are asked to meet with their group on Zoom once between sessions. 2025 Dates and times: 12 sessions, Thursdays, 3:00 - 5:30 pm UK time
Application and prerequisites:
Attendance and participation: Attendance of the first session is mandatory, and participation throughout the whole year is required to join. Students are allowed to miss up to two of the 12 sessions. Small study groups will be assigned in the first session, and attendees are asked to meet with their group on Zoom once between sessions. Certification: This mentorship is now certified through the International Guild of Complementary Therapists (IGCT). At the end of a year, you can add the total number hours up that you have attended through the mentorship as well as other classes, courses or immersions you do with me and I’m happy to issue certification to you for those hours that you can then submit to IGCT. Please be aware this is not a formal qigong certification, but it is an acknowledgement that you have been working and studying with me. At the moment, there are no official certifying bodies in the UK for qigong like there is for yoga or mindfulness, so hopefully this will suffice. |
These are some kind words and reflection from mentorship participants: 'I have been fortunate enough to be part of the 2021 mentorship group and have found both our monthly meetings and our small group connections hugely enriching both in my qigong teaching and practice. In a challenging year which felt very isolating at times, our meetings forged new and deep connections and, for that, I'm truly grateful. I really value the supportive environment of our monthly mentorship meetings, which have allowed (and encouraged) us all to show our vulnerability. Each month I have learned something new from Mimi AND from the other participants. It has been a wonderful (and rare) opportunity to not only ask questions both about our teaching and practice from a teacher who has lived this practice for many years but to open our hearts and share our ups and downs and some of our deepest feelings and thoughts with one another. I have laughed and cried and surprised myself with some of the emotions that have been ignited during our sessions. As someone who has only recently started to share qigong as a teacher, this year's mentorship has helped me to start to feel the qigong practice in my bones. It's helped me to plan and structure my teaching and to feel more confident in what I do share with my students'. – Maria Dineen 'After many years of learning about and experiencing qigong with Mimi through her books, live classes and videos, I was inspired to go deeper into this practice, and I enrolled in her mentorship program. Mimi’s mentorship program has been just what I was looking for to further my adventure into all aspects of qigong, and to take steps towards sharing this learning experience with others as an instructor and lover of this practice.
Mimi has an endearing passion for this class, and helps us navigate towards whatever path we choose to pursue with Qigong. Her sessions are incredibly informative, her style is low key and helpful, and include class time practices as well. The discussions we have within the sessions and in our smaller breakout groups are amazing, full of honest, heartfelt issues we all face, both in classes and in everyday life. These exchanges are very deep and genuine. Mimi has created a camaraderie amongst the students that is very special, and will continue long after the classes end. I will have concluded this mentorship with a greater knowledge and passion for Qigong, as well as the confidence to lead my own classes and discussions with others. Thank you, Mimi, for this wonderful opportunity. You continue to make this Qigong chapter in my life an amazing journey'. – Hank Harris I want to thank Mimi for the 12 wonderful meetings. They have not only been great, but they've been touching. I thank you for your knowledge and most of all for your wisdom that comes through when you also share about your life. It's been so inspirational and so beautiful to be part of this.
Immense thank you for your generosity to offer this mentorship with dana. It has really touched me deeply that something so generous like this happens in real life! It is really changing the world and my view on the world. It's also amazing that this has been possible online. This mentorship has shown that a skilled teacher can transmit teaching, support, understanding, and everything also online. I also want to thank you for the idea of study groups. Our group has been so balanced, everyone took initiatives, even me, who normally avoided it, and it all worked in harmony and in a relaxed way. They were a great support for study. Thank you Mimi for the amazing present that you have given to me in this unforgettable year! – Minna-Maria |
