In Classical Chinese philosophy, the sacred is perceived as the origin of all existence—an ineffable mystery, an all-pervasive essence, and the transformative force governing the workings of the universe. Referred to as Dao, often translated as 'way' or 'path' in English, it encapsulates the profound source and enigma of all things. Dao emerges from the obscurity of darkness and the unknown, representing a realm of wonder and possibility rather than peril and uncertainty.
During the spring, as roots delve into the nutrient-rich soil saturated by winter, they facilitate the upward growth manifesting as verdant leaves and blossoming flowers. Recognizing and honoring the energy orchestrating this metamorphosis encourages a connection with the sacred.
This 2 1/2 hour workshop aims to explore tools and teachings honouring the Wood phase of Spring. Practices will assist the embracing and embodying of our sacred roots through movement and meditative awareness. A brief talk will precede qigong practices, providing an opportunity to understand, appreciate, and nourish the sacred roots actively at work within us.
Dana/Donations:
This workshop is offered based on dana. Dana is a Buddhist word and teaching that means generosity and support, and works on the idea of reciprocity. With my teachings, I will offer what I hope will best support, guide and nourish you in your practice. In exchange, you are invited to give an offering of dana that reflects the support, guidance and nourishment you feel you have received.
A suggested dana is £25-35, but please know that this is only a suggestion. If you are experiencing financial hardship, you are welcome to attend for less; likewise, if you have more financial means and the teachings have offered you something of value, you are welcome to offer more. I deeply appreciate your support, which allows me to continue offering my teachings in this way.
