about the programmeThis 9-month training for teachers and teachers in training offers a journey into qigong and its relationship to the Chinese Five Phases (Wuxin 五行). By honouring our bodies as a microcosm of Nature’s macrocosm, participants will discover how qigong supports our ability to live in greater harmony with Nature, which is inherently balanced, harmonious and whole. Interweaving highly experiential practices, Daoist and Buddhist philosophy, practical theory and relevant anatomy, this course will explore how and why qigong can positively impact one’s physical, mental and emotional health. Key concepts and principles that underpin qigong practice will also be integrated and offered as ways to deepen one’s embodiment of the practice as well as offer a springboard for sharing qigong in clear, safe, authentic, and accessible ways.

The best training I have ever done, I loved it! The whole course weaved together seamlessly and each part complemented the next. I came away from the course with a deep understanding of qigong but also with a desire for wanting to learn more and to share these practices with others. Mimi was the perfect host, knowledgeable, kind and extremely generous in sharing her experiences. I couldn't recommend this course enough. – Joanna Wood
Mimi's training is a journey into the depth of our mind, heart, body and spirit. Flowing though rivers of wise words and a delicate and powerful energetic practice to give new life to the body, it delicately and harmoniously integrates all that is needed to re-emerge to a new depth of physical and spiritual. – Sara Parisi This training was a warm and fruitful island on the vast ocean of knowledge thanks to Mimi's wise, open, supportive, and sympathetic teaching. Her unique approach makes one curious, researching, sharing, confident, and well-knowledged about their practices. I feel lucky that I had a chance to shape my qigong journey with her, a great teacher. – Derya Boyaci Whether you're a movement practitioner or student, this training workshop is a wonderful and transformative journey. Mimi's knowledge is vast and her teaching skills are nothing short of brilliant, creative, engaging and utterly inclusive making this a truly embodied experience. Sensational! – Stella Zack-Idiz |

certification
|
This mentorship is now certified through the International Guild of Complementary Therapists (IGCT).
At the end of a year, you can add the total number hours up that you have attended through the Zoom sessions, small group meetings and in-person/livestream days. Send these to Joanna at the end of the programme, and I will be happy to issue certification to you for those hours, which you can then submit to IGCT. Please be aware this is not a formal qigong certification, but it is an acknowledgement that you have been working and studying with me. At the moment, there are no official certifying bodies in the UK or USA for qigong like there is for yoga or mindfulness, so hopefully this will suffice. |
dana and fees
Administrative fees: There is a £150 administrative fee for the online portion of the course, payable once your application has been approved.
If you plan to attend in-person sessions, there is an additional £100 admin fee per module to cover costs for hall rental, manual printing and admin.
Teaching fee: The teaching fees for this training will be offered on dana, a Buddhist word meaning generosity and mutual support. A suggested amount of dana is between £250-400 if you attend via Zoom or livestream for the year. For those attending the in-person sessions, a suggested dana is £200-300 per module.
Please note: I suggest offering your dana AFTER the completion of the course. This way, you can offer an amount that you feel supports me in a commensurate way with how much you feel I have supported you through my teachings.
About dana: Dana is a Buddhist word and teaching that means generosity and support, and works on the idea of reciprocity. With my teachings, I will offer what I hope will best support, guide and nourish you in your practice. In exchange, you are invited to give an offering of dana that reflects the support, guidance and nourishment you feel you have received.
If you are experiencing financial hardship, you are welcome to attend for less than the suggested amount; likewise, if you have more financial means and the teachings have offered you something of value, you are welcome to offer more. I deeply appreciate your support, which allows me to continue offering these classes each week.

some kind words shared by past students about my qigong mentorship and in-person training
After many years of learning about and experiencing qigong with Mimi through her books, live classes and videos, I was inspired to go deeper into this practice, and I enrolled in her mentorship program. Mimi’s mentorship program has been just what I was looking for to further my adventure into all aspects of qigong, and to take steps towards sharing this learning experience with others as an instructor and lover of this practice.
Mimi has an endearing passion for this class, and helps us navigate towards whatever path we choose to pursue with Qigong. Her sessions are incredibly informative, her style is low key and helpful, and include class time practices as well. The discussions we have within the sessions and in our smaller breakout groups are amazing, full of honest, heartfelt issues we all face, both in classes and in everyday life. These exchanges are very deep and genuine. Mimi has created a camaraderie amongst the students that is very special, and will continue long after the classes end.
I will have concluded this mentorship with a greater knowledge and passion for Qigong, as well as the confidence to lead my own classes and discussions with others. Thank you, Mimi, for this wonderful opportunity. You continue to make this Qigong chapter in my life an amazing journey'. – Hank Harris

The 5 Phases training with Mimi was truly a transformative experience for me as a student, and as a teacher. Mimi teaches from a place of deep love and reverence for this ancient practice, and the integrity and care she has for the art, and for sharing this with her students, is so present. I felt so full each day with new learnings, and new ways of thinking about forms or ideas that I might previously have known. Embodying the 5 elements into the qigong practice allows us to feel even more connected to the medicinal and cosmological roots, and allows us to expand into nature through movements and philosophy. An ecological embodiment practice, taught with heart, gentleness, and honour! I feel my personal practice has deepened and my teaching practice has become more grounded since this training. Thank you Mimi! – bones tan jones

The Five Phase Immersion Training with Mimi was brilliant. The training course is rich with information that dives deeply into the phases and our innate connection with them. There was a strong emphasis on experiential learning, encouraging us to get a felt sense of qigong in our experience; this really helped me to deepen my understanding and strengthen the place that I teach from. My teaching and confidence has improved as a result.
