Kind words shared by some who completed the
qigong and the 5 phases 25-hour course with commune
Mimi, it was such a gift to spend this time learning from you. I’ve enjoyed my daily qigong practice for about the last year, but I knew I was just scratching the surface. Because of this course my practice will be changed, I will be changed, every day for the rest of my life. I know I have so much more to learn - always will - but I feel like I have a good foundation to build on now. Thank you! I was hoping to learn how to deepen my qigong practice and boy, did I get that! I so appreciate how clearly you teach and how you encourage play, personal exploration, and self trust. I really appreciate all the amazing content that you delivered and that you chose to cast a wider net rather than a deeper one, it’s exactly what I needed. I feel inspired and empowered. I’ve done other movement trainings in other modalities but they were all in-person trainings. What a gift to have all the content available to rewatch over and over, each time grasping a detail I missed before. It’s the gift of a lifetime. I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity to learn from you. Thank you so much! Warmly, Tracy
Mimi, thank you so much for sharing the Qigong Five Phases practice. My first introduction to Qigong was in taking your course on the Eighteen Forms. Initially, my intention was to learn about this internal martial art only in terms of staying fit. At the time, I felt that my 69 year old body could benefit physically from learning the forms, which I did. Little did I realize, that there was so much more to the practice of Qigong. You helped open my awareness to the connection of Qi and to Source. I am forever grateful to you and hope that I can attend one of your retreats in the future as I continue on my journey of discovery and open heartedness. – Gary
I love how your teaching brings together traditions while honoring each. – Charlie
Thank you. You are a wonderful teacher. And thank you for your generosity in presenting this so we can incorporate it into our own teaching. Upon your recommend, I will be Rudolph Laban and Livia Kohn! I would also love to go to a Qigong retreat or workshop where you are teaching, to practice and to meet like-minded people, but is less likely can go that between September and April. But please put me in your mailing list!! And please keep offering courses through Commune! – Rebekha
Thank you for a wonderful class. I will be reviewing it for years. – Laura
Dear Mimi, What a wonderful gift this course has been! As I said in one of my comments in the survey, your cultural and historical knowledge and sensitivity make the teaching special. When I teach qigong and tai chi, I strive to convey the same appreciation of their roots in Chinese culture and philosophy, as I think that the "historical imagination" is as important a part in facilitating an emergent spirituality of the practice as imagining "qi" or the "dan tian" or the meridian pathways. And for Western students, it helps connect them with a part of a rich human culture, history, and tradition they might only know through stereotype and caricature. Lots of love, Russ
Everything, I teach QiGong but the training of the 5 Elements I have experienced from others has been without 'thought' and imagination (typical of Western teaching sadly) - I have gained so much more now. - Thank you Mimi x – Janet
Thank you so much for your generosity and wisdom. It is very valuable and your years of dedication are of great value to the world. – Louisa
I'd just like to send lots of gratitude for all of Mimi's efforts to share qigong. Through her courses, I am feeling benefits physically, mentally, and emotionally. I am also finding a helpful framework for navigating life in a more thoughtful way. – Haley
Thank you for making Qigong accessible. You give me confidence to lead sessions in a relaxed way that suits my attendees, allowing them to do as much or little as they can manage. This does not seem to be the case for all teachers, I am grateful to have found you. Xx – Debra
Thank you, Mimi! I'm so grateful I stumbled on your Qigong courses, and I couldn't imagine a better teacher for guiding me into this world/practice. Many thanks, and all the best! – Marina
Thank you so much for all of your work, Mimi. Your first Commune course on the Eight Silk Brocades was my introduction to qigong. I am 71 years old and have had many years of chronic pain related to lumbar scoliosis with resulting nerve entrapment. The practice of qigong and your wonderful, encouraging teaching style have improved my pain and mobility more than I would have believed possible. My qigong practice is one of the best parts of almost every day. Qigong has also strengthened my sitting meditation practice. – Beth
Mimi I love the teachings you give from a place of wisdom, grounding, presence, sacredness and fun!. Your teaching and practices have opened the door to nature and the natural world for me in a profound way. For this I am deeply grateful X
Her teaching is very inspiring and it has improved my health and it makes me smile. – Tove
Thank you for sharing this practice with both rigorous and playfulness. – André
