Guided by Mimi and Jodi's intelligent, renewing embrace, I was quickly wrapped in the clearing, easy space and breath of the countryside, in the unrushed movements of the days, in fun explorations of yoga and qigong. And all of it splashed with good company!" –Mayling Birney

"Mimi and Jodi's weekend retreat was very inspiring. They both offer so much in their teachings, and gave so much warmth and kindness to myself and everyone else on the course. The weekend was everything I needed it to be: the people, the views, the food, and the space. It was defiantly fate that I came on the retreat." – Claire Lloyd-Evans

"I want to thank Jodi and Mimi for bringing our group together and weaving some yogi qigong magic. The weekend allowed me profoundly to return to the Source, and other things fall away and return to its source as well. The weekend inspired me to think of this verse from the Dao de Qing: 'Profound caring is eternal as a deep valley’s spirit. Everything can offer a gateway to profound caring which uses an everlasting skein of energy and a very light touch.'" – Lissa Rodd

Frequently asked questions about retreats
“My thanks go to Mimi and Jodi for an amazing retreat. I know them both as skilled, generous and gifted teachers, but they also created such a safe and comfortable space for everyone, which is testament to their amazing skills and spirit. I felt a deep sense of peace, stillness and clarity from my time there. It was so interesting to be able to explore both Yoga and Qigong as distinct practices but also understand how they can intersect and develop a deeper intuition into what our bodies need, whether it be stillness or motion.” – Rakhee Jasani
"What we took home: A deeper understanding of qi gong, an intriguing practice that forms the basis of all Chinese martial arts. Qi gong encourages the practitioner to heighten their self-awareness through listening to the body and mind, and learn how to conserve energy (rather than expel too much and burn out quickly) in both the practice and daily life.
Would we go back: Yes. The lake, river and gardens were heavenly. Mimi and Jodi’s yoga and qi gong classes were superb. The food was delicious and wholesome.
People watch: Senior yoga and qi gong teachers Mimi Kuo-Deemer and Jodi Smith run an annual joint retreat here. They have an incredible combined knowledge and are warm compassionate people. Sophie Tunnicliffe, a massage therapist from Paris, offered deeply relaxing 60 minute treatments: a choice of deep tissue, aromatherapy or acupressure (£60) – highly recommended." – QueenofRetreats.com review of the Mill Retreat and 2015's retreat
