A Woman's World and Other Visions: Contemporary Chinese Women's Lives.
These photos are a look at the complex, contemporary landscape of contemporary Chinese women's lives. Moving from a past where foot binding and arranged marriages were common to a society dictated by the Party's Maoist style controls, women today walk an often awkward, nostalgic terrain. These photos explore the ways in which women are adapting to a looser world where more possiblities and different challenges await.
