A guitar maker and woodworker by trade today, Jitrung was a monk before the Cultural Revlolution's onslaught forced him to leave the monastery and marry. His main income is derived from woodwork but he continues to perform many Buddhis rituals and chants inside homes for many villagers who invite him for services.
